With your cell phone

Press the top arrow to enter the cell phone menu. Here you can choose from two options: Quick Job and Jobs List.

Joining jobs with your cell phone

Quick Job menu allows you to join the closest job in-progress. Clicking on Join Random will send you to one of three types of games which are about to start. You can also manually set the type of game you want to join. Depending on your feelings, you can choose between Join Race, Join Deathmatch, and Join Mission. Jobs List, on the other hand, contains invitations from other players as well as missions given by NPCs (e.g. Simeon or Lamar). This tab also holds invitations to jobs which are still active, that is those not yet taken by other players.

You can also join jobs through the game menu. Go to Game menu > Online > Jobs > Join Jobs. Here too you can choose to join a random job or a specific game type.

Another way to join missions is through the contact menu. You just need to call one of the mission givers – be it Lamar – to get to play a mission.

Joining the game via the map

Starting a job via the world map

Press START, to open the GTA Online world map. There are icons which stand for particular jobs. There are two ways to get there. You can either set GPS route and drive there, or use “quick travel” option. If you choose the first option, point a job icon with the cursor and press A (X360) or X (PS3) to set the route to a given location. Remember to exit a vehicle before entering the job circle – you have to be on foot to start it.

Using “quick travel” is much easier. You just point a job icon with the cursor and press X (X360), SQUARE (PS3). You will be asked if you really want to start the job. Accept this and it is all set.

What are the best jobs to start with in GTA Online

When starting out in GTA Online, it’s crucial to choose jobs that offer a good balance of income and ease of completion. Here are some of the best jobs for beginners:

  1. Contact Missions: These missions provide a solid source of cash and RP, allowing you to earn bonuses without extensive grinding. They become available as you level up in GTA Online.

  2. CEO/VIP Work: This is an underrated yet lucrative option. You can access these jobs through the SecuroServ option in the interaction menu, and they often pay well without requiring extensive business investments.

  3. Heists: While challenging, Heists offer significant payouts. Start with simpler ones like the Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid or join a group for more complex Heists like Cayo Perico once you have enough resources.

  4. High-Paying Missions: Missions such as Pier Pressure and Blow Up are accessible early on and can yield substantial rewards.

  5. Racing and Other Activities: Participating in races or engaging in activities like robbing stores can also provide a steady income stream.

Which job pays the most for beginners in GTA Online

For beginners in GTA Online, one of the most lucrative jobs is CEO/VIP work. These missions are accessible early on and can provide substantial payouts without requiring extensive business investments or high-level skills. Another highly rewarding option is completing Most Wanted Bounty missions, which can pay up to $130,000 in just a few minutes, making them an excellent way to start your day in GTA Online2.

Here’s a comparison of these options:

Job Type Payout Ease of Completion
CEO/VIP Work Moderate to High Easy to Medium
Most Wanted Bounty $130,000 Very Easy

While CEO/VIP work offers consistent income with a cooldown period, Most Wanted Bounty missions provide a quick and significant payout daily. Both are excellent choices for beginners looking to maximize their earnings in GTA Online.
