As you navigate the treacherous landscape following a shipwreck, your journey leads you to Druid Grove, where Wyll stands ready to join your quest—if you can prove your worth. This guide unravels the steps to recruit this intriguing character, revealing not only his combat prowess but also the secrets that lie behind his charming facade. Will you rise to the challenge and earn Wyll’s loyalty, or will his hidden truths remain shrouded in darkness?
Where to meet Wyll in Act 1?
In Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you can meet Wyll in the Druid Grove area. Specifically, follow the path north from where you woke up after the ship crash until you reach Druid Grove. There, engage in battle with goblins outside the settlement gates, which will grant you access inside. Once inside, head towards the training area within the caves of Druid Grove. You’ll find Wyll there, teaching Tiefling children how to defend themselves against goblin attacks. After defeating the goblins, talk to Wyll about his quest to hunt down a hellspawn named Karlach. He may agree to join your party if you help him slay some goblin leaders during subsequent quests like Save the Refugees or Removing the Parasite.
- You must advance to Act 1 of the game, then visit the Druid Grove as part of the main quest, Removing the Parasite.
- At the entrance to the Druid Grove, it is obligatory to help defeat a group of goblins. Only after winning the battle will the inhabitants of the grove let the team in.
At no point in the first act should you choose the option to join the goblins from their camp to attack the grove. Otherwise, Wyll will no longer want to join you.
After entering the Druid Grove, find the Warlock in the training area – he is shown in the pictures above. Initiate a conversation with Wyll and comment on his training with any dialogue option.
- During the conversation you can peek into his mind. You’ll learn he also needs to get rid of the parasite, and that you could look for Halsin together.
- At the end of the meeting, invite Wyll to join the active team or send him back to the camp. Do not decline his proposal for traveling together.
Wyll and Karlach – confrontation
In Baldur’s Gate 3, the confrontation between Wyll and Karlach is a pivotal moment that tests the player’s moral compass. As Wyll, the heroic Blade of Frontiers, is tasked by his warlock patron Mizora to hunt down Karlach, a tiefling he believes to be a devil, players face a critical choice. When they encounter Karlach, Wyll’s instinct is to strike, leading to a potential battle. However, players can intervene and persuade Wyll to reconsider his assumptions about Karlach, revealing her true nature and allowing her to join the party. This decision not only impacts the dynamics of the group but also carries significant consequences for Wyll, who risks punishment from Mizora if he defies her orders by sparing Karlach’s life. The confrontation encapsulates the themes of loyalty and sacrifice that permeate the game, making it a memorable and impactful moment in the narrative.
- Wyll and Karlach start off hating each other. Wyll is supposed to hunt her. If you recruit both of them, they may end up confronting each other.
- It can occur after returning to camp for a long rest. You can support Wyll in two ways – persuade him to see reason (choose the first dialogue options) or kill Karlach. We don’t recommend the second option, as you’ll lose her as a party member.
