This guide will reveal the secrets to entering the camp, where danger lurks behind every corner and opportunities for treasure and quests abound. Are you ready to face the goblins and uncover what lies within their stronghold?

Where is the Goblin Camp?

The Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 is situated to the west of Druid Grove, accessible after navigating through the Blighted Village. Players will find the camp at the western edge of the map, marked by a wooden bridge that serves as the main entrance. This area is rich in quests and encounters, featuring numerous goblins and various story elements. To enter the camp, players can either engage in combat, use stealth, or leverage dialogue options with the goblin guards. Notably, freeing the goblin Sazza from captivity can provide a smoother entry into the camp, as she can help bypass some of the guards.

The Goblin Camp is a large location at the western border of the land from Act 1. You will find many opponents and a merchant there, so it’s best to wait to start the fight with the goblins.

Main Entrance: persuading the goblins

To gain entry into the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, players can utilize various strategies, with persuasion being the most effective. By leveraging the illithid parasite, characters can convince the goblin guards that they are a “True Soul,” allowing them to pass without conflict. This method not only provides unrestricted access to the camp but also enables players to interact freely with its inhabitants, gather information, and complete quests without the threat of immediate violence. If persuasion fails or is not an option, stealth or combat can serve as alternatives, though these methods may lead to heightened tensions and challenges within the camp.

The most obvious option of getting into the Goblin Camp is to meet the goblins who guard the entrance in the southern part of the area.

There are several ways you can convince the goblins to let you in:

  1. Using illithid power – the easiest way, because you can’t fail the skillcheck. If you “used up” this power, you can return to the camp first and rest.
  2. Passing one of the skillchecks. These can include Fighter, intimidation, Nature, or Deception tests. It is best to save your game early, as it may require you to roll a fairly high value (e.g. 10 or 15 points).

You may also be forced by the guard at the entrance to humiliate yourself and smear yourself with feces. You have to agree and do it. Otherwise, there is a risk of provoking the goblins into battle.

There is also a comprehensive alternative way of entering the camp peacefully. During your stay in Druid Grove, you can find an improvised jail where ‘goblin Sazza is being held. On your first visit there, you have to save her. To do so, you must stand in front of the cage in the shooting line and pass a Persuasion or Intimidation skillcheck to stop her execution. Save the game because failing the check can lead to a fight with characters from jail.

After you are alone with Sazza in jail, you can talk to her and discuss your desire to meet the goblin healer. Free her using Thieves’ Tools.

You don’t have to go through the entire Grove – there is an exit at the back of the cage to escape from this location discreetly.

If you have saved Sazza, she can vouch for the main character, allowing you to enter the Goblin Camp.

Main entrance: fighting with goblins

To access the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, players can choose from several approaches, with combat being a direct but challenging option. The main entrance lies to the west of the Blighted Village, where players will encounter goblin guards. Engaging in battle is straightforward; however, caution is advised as defeating the guards will alert the entire camp, leading to a chaotic fight against numerous goblins. Utilizing stealth or dialogue to bypass the guards is often recommended for a more strategic entry, allowing players to explore the camp without immediate conflict. If players opt for a fight, they should prepare their party for a tough battle against multiple foes, including goblin leaders like Priestess Gut and Ragzlin, who will require careful planning and coordination to defeat effectively.

Goblins will attack you, if:

  1. you will choose the wrong dialogue options,
  2. you will not pass one of the skill checks,
  3. you will start the fight yourself. We advise you to prepare for this, because the goblins standing above will attack you. It’s better to sneak up on enemies with a well-positioned team.

How to get in the Goblin Camp?

To access the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, players have several options. The easiest method is to convince the goblin guards of your identity as a “True Soul” using the illithid parasite, allowing you to enter without conflict. Alternatively, you can sneak in by utilizing stealth tactics, such as Astarion’s skills, to bypass guards and avoid detection. If diplomacy fails, you may resort to combat, engaging the guards directly, though this will alert the entire camp. Regardless of the approach, successfully entering the camp opens up opportunities for exploration and quest progression, including interactions with key characters like Volo and the chance to rescue captured allies.

In BG3 there are 2 secret passages to the Goblin Camp. Thanks to them, you will bypass the main gate and skip the fight with the guards.

The first secret entrance is located southeast of the main gate leading to the camp. You have to get there from the forest side. When you reach the slope of the cliff, jump down by the log – but be careful not to let the jump from height kill your character.

Go along the path through the cave to bypass the main gate. Be careful of traps and spider webs along the way. Jump over the hole in the ground and head towards the camp. Not far from the entrance, you’ll encounter 3 low-level goblins, which you’ll easily defeat if you attack them by surprise.

The second secret entrance to the camp is near the bridge. Instead of going to the main gate, turn right and go over the rocks towards the camp.

What are the best strategies to sneak into the Goblin Camp undetected

  2. Crossing the Fallen Tree:

  3. Disabling Traps:
    • Be cautious of traps laid throughout these sneaky routes. Use perception checks to identify and avoid them, ensuring your party remains undetected as you progress deeper into the camp.
  4. Use of Stealth Skills:
    • Characters like Astarion can leverage their stealth abilities for sneak attacks on unsuspecting goblins. Utilize skills such as Shadowheart’s Blessing of the Trickster or Pass Without Trace to enhance your party’s stealth capabilities.
  5. Eliminating Guards Silently:
