Complete Guide to Red Dead Redemption 2 Fence Locations: How to Obtain

Guides

Few traders in Red Dead Redemption 2 are as shady yet useful as the Fence. From crafting rare talismans to buying stolen goods others won’t touch, his services can turn your outlaw exploits into real advantages.

Fence, just like regular traders, appear on the RDR2 world map as soon as you discover them during your journey. Fence can be found in the town of Rhodes and in the main town of Saint Denis. Their shops are open only during the daytime.

Here is a detailed range of services offered by each fence:

  1. Fence will buy items that have been stolen by Arthur (e.g. different types of jewelry). The same items can be placed in a donation chest in the gang camp. A fence is visited in order to have money for yourself and not for the expansion of the Dutch gang camp.
  2. Production of unique talismans. Each produced talisman can permanently change the statistics of the hero, e.g. help in finding more cash or slow down the degradation of your weapon. To create a talisman you need the pelt of a legendary animal. Fence is the only person to whom such legendary leather can be sold. By selling the pelt you will not only get rich, but unlock the option to buy a talisman associated with it.
  3. The Fence sells items that are useful during theft and hunting. These include throwing weapons, dynamites and various types of lures. The most important unique item in the fence offer is the Lock Breaker for about 22 dollars – it allows you to open all closed chests (you can find them, for example, in robbed stagecoaches). One Lock Breaker is enough for the whole game, because it cannot get destroyed in any way.
