Walkthrough: Speak with two Native Americans in Saint Denis. After a few in-game hours, you will be able to start the second part of this mission. Go to the quest marker near Citadel Rock and speak with Eagle Flies. Go down the mountain and enter the back of the wagon – do that right after it stops near the train.
Arthur goes to the factory. Leve the wagon when it stops. Move forward and enter the building. Wait for the first guard to leave the room, and for the second guard to turn around – move forward and jump over the pipes.
Don’t pay attention to the janitor – go up the stairs. Wait for the guard to look through the window, and move forward. Enter the office.
Interrogate Danbury and force him to give you the documents. Watch the cut-scene. Jump through the window and prepare for a firefight.
There are plenty of enemies – use covers. One of the requirements for the gold medal is to complete the mission with at least 80% accuracy – make sure that you don’t miss. Go to the place where the explosion took place, and defeat more enemies.
Eagle Flies stands near the fuel tankers. Escape with him – you will be chased by more enemies. Kill all raiders – this is another requirement for the gold medal. Kill all enemies to complete the mission.

What makes the American Fathers mission so challenging
The American Fathers mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 is challenging for several reasons:
-
Stealth Requirements: To achieve a Gold Medal, players must infiltrate the Cornwall Kerosene & Tar factory undetected by hiding in a wagon. This requires precise timing and positioning to avoid being seen by guards.
-
High Accuracy and Headshots: While the specific headshot requirement is mentioned in other missions, achieving high accuracy (at least 80% for Gold Medal in part 2) is crucial. This demands careful aim and strategy, especially during intense shootouts.
-
Escape and Pursuit: After obtaining the documents, players must escape the factory and kill all horseback pursuers, which can be challenging due to the number of enemies and the need to maintain accuracy.
-
Interrogation and Timing: Inside the factory, players must interrogate Mr. Danbury without being detected, which involves waiting for guards to turn away and making precise moves to avoid detection.
What are the main obstacles in infiltrating the factory
Infiltrating a factory, such as in the context of Red Dead Redemption 2’s “American Fathers” mission, involves several obstacles that can be generalized from real-world scenarios and gaming challenges:
-
Security Measures:
-
Guards and Patrols: In both real-world and gaming scenarios, guards and security patrols are a significant obstacle. They must be evaded or distracted to avoid detection.
-
Surveillance Systems: Modern factories often have advanced surveillance systems, including cameras and sensors, which can detect intruders.
-
-
Physical Barriers:
-
Walls and Fences: Factories are typically surrounded by secure fencing or walls to prevent unauthorized access.
-
Doors and Access Points: Secure doors and limited access points require careful planning to bypass.
-
-
Alarms and Detection Systems:
-
Motion Detectors: These can trigger alarms if an intruder is detected, necessitating quick action to disable them.
-
Intrusion Detection Systems: Advanced systems can alert security personnel to potential breaches.
-
-
Internal Layout and Navigation:
-
Complex Layout: Factories often have complex internal layouts, making navigation difficult without prior knowledge or planning.
-
Hidden Dangers: There may be hazardous materials or machinery that pose additional risks during infiltration.
-
-
Unexpected Events:
-
Power Outages: Sudden power outages can complicate navigation and increase the risk of detection.
-
Rival Intruders: In some scenarios, other intruders may be present, complicating the mission objectives.
-
In the context of Red Dead Redemption 2, these obstacles are simulated through gameplay mechanics such as stealth requirements, timed objectives, and intense shootouts, which players must navigate to successfully complete the mission.
